Speech-Language Pathologist

rachel ziser - speech and language therapistRachel is a compassionate and outgoing clinician who enjoys building connections with her clients and their families to achieve their communication goals. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and earned her master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Boston University. Rachel holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech and Hearing Association and is licensed in Speech-Language Pathology by the state of Massachusetts. Rachel has experience working with children and adults within the private practice, hospital and elementary school settings. She also has significant experience writing and developing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for young learners through her previous work within the charter-public school system. Rachel has evaluated and treated children presenting with a comprehensive range of diagnoses, including articulation and phonological disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, receptive/expressive language disorders, social communication challenges, stuttering and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Rachel is also knowledgeable about augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) methods to meet diverse communication needs. Rachel truly values working as a team with her clients and their families to create a collaborative treatment approach.

Rachel lives in Somerville and enjoys finding new restaurants to try in the area. Her favorite food is a fruit smoothie! In her free time, Rachel enjoys spending time with friends, learning how to play pickleball, playing board games and completing 1,000-piece puzzles.
