Speech-Language Pathologist
Karen is an enthusiastic clinician who is dedicated to helping each child communicate more effectively. She is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist who is certified by the American Speech and Hearing Association. Karen has worked with children and families for over 25 years in a variety of settings including schools, homes, and private clinics. Karen received her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Disorders at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, followed by a Master of Science Degree at Northeastern University. Throughout her career, Karen has gained extensive experience evaluating students, writing individualized education plans, participating in team meetings and treating adolescents who present with a wide range of abilities. She enjoys collaborating with educators, parents, and specialists regarding strategies to assist each child to achieve his/her goals. Karen provides evidenced based treatment and allows each child to progress at their own pace while building confidence in their abilities. Karen’s training includes Lindamood-Bell’s Visualizing and Verbalizing, the Lindamood Phoneme Sequencing Program (LIPS), as well as Michelle Garcia Winner’s Social Thinking curriculum. Karen’s therapeutic interests include the following: articulation/phonology, apraxia, expressive and receptive language delays/disorders, auditory processing, ADHD, social communication disorder, language-based learning disabilities, fluency, and developmental delays. Karen lives in Boxford with her husband, two sons, and their dog, Finn.
