Speech-Language Pathologist

Kayla Leonard - Speech and Language PathologistKayla is a dynamic licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She received her bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders from The Ohio State University before going on to earn a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from New York Medical College. Kayla is a seasoned speech therapist in the public-school setting with expertise in working with children in preschool through middle school. She has practiced for many years providing Early Intervention services to families through direct therapy and parent coaching. In addition, Kayla has worked as a Clinical Professor at New York Medical College educating graduate students in the evaluation, treatment, and clinical research to best support client needs.

Kayla specializes in a wide variety of speech and language disorders including articulation and phonological disorders, receptive and expressive language disorders, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, Autism, and early childhood language development. Kayla is passionate about providing effective therapy that matches her clients’ interests and integrates parent coaching and education into her therapeutic approach. Kayla lives in Woburn with her husband, Jay, and their two boys, Zach and Frankie. As a family, they enjoy skiing, traveling, and spending time in the outdoors.
